Rescue

Most sea kayaking is done without support vessels with the primary aim of cruising the coast or exploring coastal features without the need for outside assistance. A group with good rescue skills should aim to be self sufficient and able to deal with unexpected capsizes and wet exits in a range of conditions.

They should also be able to deal with various scenarios including towing and equipment failures by drawing on skill and experience within the group.

Open Water Rescue

An engaging and action packed session using scenarios drawn from real life situations. This session focuses on teamwork, judgment and problem solving skills. Various towing systems will be used and assisted rescue techniques applied.

This class is designed for those who have some experience in wet exits and boat handling (see “Foundation Skills” page).

Time and Place: 4 Hours. A mixture of sheltered and exposed locations along the Sydney Coast for 2 to a maximum of 4 per group.

$90 per person
